Blusteel carbon steel cookware use and care

Steps:

  1. Wash Wash your seasoned carbon steel cookware by hand with warm water. You can use a small amount of soap. If needed, use a pan scraper, scrub brush, or non-scratch pad. For stuck-on food, simmer a little water for 3-5 minutes, then use the scraper after the pan has cooled.
  2. Dry promptly and thoroughly with a lint-free cloth or paper towel.
  3. Oil Rub a very light layer of cooking oil or seasoning spray onto the surface of the pan. Rub the oil onto the pan until it is evenly distributed.

What is Carbon Steel?

Carbon Steel cookware is the modern, 40% more lightweight compared to the classic Cast Iron. Featuring long, riveted handles, carbon steel pans are ideal for cooking over a grill or open flame.

But that’s not all! Just like cast iron, carbon steel cookware can also be used on any kitchen cooktop and in the oven.

What's the difference between carbon steel and cast iron?

While cast iron cookware is cast in sand molds, carbon steel products are formed by spinning and stamping carbon steel, allowing them to be lighter and thinner than cast iron.

How do I season blusteel or cast iron cookwares?

Simply clean and oil your cookware after every use. Rubbing oil into your pan after each use ensures the seasoning remains intact for quality cooking.

Can I use soap or dishwasher?

Contrary to popular belief, you can use a small amount of soap to clean any cast iron cookware. However, large amounts of soap can strip the seasoning off your pan, but you can easily re-season your pan as needed.

Can I soak my carbon steel cookware?

No. Soaking carbon steel in water is a recipe for rust. If you need to remove sticky or stubborn stuck-on food, use a nylon scrubbing brush or a pan scraper and rinse under warm water. Be sure to thoroughly dry your pan.

Is carbon steel cookware dishwasher safe?

No. Any seasoned carbon steel cookware should be washed by hand. A dishwasher will remove the seasoning and likely cause rust.

Are carbon steel cookware safe?

YES! Carbon steel cookware is safe to use for cooking since the material of construction is iron and carbon. Iron is a safe material for cookware and carbon has the same characteristics as Iron. This is a natural material without added harmful and toxic coatings.

Is carbon steel better than cast iron?
